White Brownies

6 squares (1 ounce each)
white baking chocolate
1 cup butter, cubed
6 eggs
3 cups sugar
2 tsp vanilla
3 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 pkg (10-12 ounces)
vanilla or white chips
1 cup chopped pecans

In a double boiler or in a microwave, melt the chocolate and the butter. Cool for 20 minutes. In a large bowl, beat the eggs and the sugar until thick and lemon-colored. This will take about 4 minutes. Gradually beat in the melted chocolate and the vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder, and the salt. Gradually add to the chocolate mixture. Stir in the chips and the pecans. Pour into a greased 15 x 10 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 F for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack. Makes about 4 dozen
