Fudgy Brownies Empty Fudgy Brownies

Fudgy Brownies

1/2 cup butter
4 squares (1 ounce each) unsweetened chocolate
2 cups sugar
4 eggs, lightly beaten
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups chopped pecans, optional
confectioners' sugar, optional

In a microwave, melt the butter and the chocolate. Stir until smooth. Cool slightly. In a large bowl, beat the sugar and the eggs. Stir in the vanilla and chocolate mixture. Combine the flour and salt. Gradually add to the chocolate mixture. Stir in the pecans, if desired. Spread into two greased 8 - inch square baking pans. Bake at 325 F for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack. Dust with confectioners sugar if desired. Cut into bars. Makes 32 brownies
