Frankfurter Soup
Frankfurter Soup
½ Onion – chopped fine
2 Links of Hot Dogs and/or European Wieners
1 ½ TBSP (4 ½ TSP) All purpose Flour
1 TSP Smoked Paprika
1 Cube Beef Bouillon – crushed
4 Cups WATER
¼ Cup Milk and/or Cream
¼ Cup of Cold water and 1 TBSP All purpose flour
Salt/Pepper to taste
Onion is chopped very fine and sautéed with sliced Hot Dogs or
Wieners; when almost done amd/or onion is past glossy, add flour, when
mixture starts turning golden add Paprika, crushed beef bouillon
and 4 cups of water, bring to boil for about 15 minutes.
After that, turn down the heat to minimum, when rapid boil stops
add the milk and/or cream, season while stirring, no need to bring
it back to boil, only if you desire to thicken the soup with 1 TBSP of
all purpose flour dissolved in ¼ Cup of cold water.
The soup is best served in bread bowl.
Makes about 3 – 4 servings.
