Oatmeal Kiss Cookies
Oatmeal Kiss Cookies
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 1/4 cups quick-cooking oats
1 cup chopped nuts
72 milk chocolate kisses
In a large bowl, cream the butter, shortening, and both of the sugars until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time. Beat well after each addition. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the creamed mixture. Mix well. Stir in the oats and nuts. Roll into 1 inch balls. Place 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 F for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned. Immediately press a chocolate kiss in the center of each cookie. Remove to wire racks to cool. Makes 6 dozen cookies
