Chocolate Chunk Cookies

6 squares (1 oz. each) white
baking chocolate, divided
1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 pkg. (11 1/2 oz.) semisweet chocolate
chunks or 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

In a microwave, melt the three squares of white chocolate at 70 % power for 1 minute. Stir.
Microwave at additional 10 to 20 second intervals. Stir until smooth. Cool. In a large bowl, cream the butter and the sugars until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time. Beat well after each addition. Beat in the melted chocolate and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the creamed mixture. Mix well. Stir in the semisweet chocolate chunks. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto the ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375 F for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Cool for 1 minute before removing to the wire racks to cool completely. In a microwave, melt the remaining white chocolate at 70 % power for 1 minute. Stir. Microwave at additional 10 to 20 second intervals. Stir until smooth. Drizzle over the cookies. Makes 3 dozen
