Fudge Crinkles

18 1/4 ounces cake mix, devils food
1/3 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
1/2 cup miniature chocolate chips, optional
confectioner' s sugar, optional

Preheat oven to 350. Line baking sheets with parchment paper. Stir by hand with a wooden spoon dry cake mix, oil and eggs in a large bowl until dough forms. If desired, stir in 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips. Chill for 30 minutes, if time permits. It will make forming balls much easier. Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Roll in confectioner' s sugar, if desired. Place 2 inches apart on cookie sheets. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until centre is JUST SET. Cool on pan for 1 minute, then put on wire racks to cool.
