Blonde Brownie Nut Squares

Blonde Brownie Nut Squares
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
In a mixing bowl, beat the butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the sugar mixture. Mix well. Fold in the nuts. Spread in a greased 8-inch square baking dish. Bake at 350 F. for 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in the pan on a wire rack. Cut into squares. Makes 16 squares
