1 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter or margarine -- softened
2 eggs
1 cup biscuit mix
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup chopped dates
4 ounces maraschino cherries -- drained and chopped
Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Mix sugar, butter, and eggs well. Stir in biscuit mix. Fold in nuts, dates, and cherries. Spread in well greased 13x9-inch pan. Bake 30 minutes. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Loosen edges with spatula and cut in 2 1/4 x 1 1/2-inch bars. Remove from pan carefully because cookies are delicate when warm. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar. Yield: 32 bars (1 per serving).
