Honey Maple Cookies
Honey Maple Cookies
1 cup shortening
3/4 cup honey
3/4 cup maple syrup
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 cups (12 oz.) semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans
In a large bowl, beat the shortening until light and fluffy. Add the honey and syrup, a little at a time. Beat well after each addition. Add the eggs, one at a time. Beat well after each addition. The mixture will appear curdled. Beat in the vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda, aand the salt. Gradually add to the honey mixture. Mix until moistened. Stir in the chocolate chips and pecans. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 350 F for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to wire racks. Makes 5 dozen
