Quick Tuna Chowder


2 TBSP green onion – chopped

1 Clove of Garlic sliced thin

½ CUP mixed vegetables – chopped (frozen are OK too)

1 TBSP cooking oil

1 TBSP instant flour

1 CUP milk and/or Half & Half

1 TBSP Fish Sauce

1 TBSP Tomato Paste

½ TSP each dried basil, oregano, marjoram

¼ TSP Bay leaf - ground

¼ TSP sweet paprika

1 Can Tuna, flaked whole with liquid

Salt / pepper





In sauce pan sauté onion and vegetables. When tender stir in the flour combined with milk, herbs, fish sauce, tomato paste and paprika; (make sure there are no lumps!) add liquid from drained tuna; Cook and stir until mixture thickens and bubbles, if is too thick add water or stock. Reduce heat and stir in tuna. Cook for couple more minutes, season with salt and pepper and serve.





Makes 2 servings in about 15 minutes
