Chewy Chocolate Chips Cookies
Chewy Chocolate Chips Cookies
1 1/4 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup butter or magarine, softened
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup flaked coconut
1 pkg. (6 oz.) semisweet chocolate pieces
1/2 cup pecans, chopped
Preheat the oven to 375 F. In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, and salt. In a large bowl, using an electric mixer at low speed, cream the butter and both of the sugars. Add the egg and vanilla. Beat until well- blended. Add the flour mixture. Beat until blended. Stir in the coconut, chocolate, and the pecans. Drop by tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart, onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 12-15 minutes until lightly browned. Remove the cookies to wire racks to cool. Makes 2 1/2 dozen
