Cherry-Almond Balls
Cherry-Almond Balls
3/4 cup butter, softened
1/3 cup confectioners' sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup almonds, chopped
60 red and/or green condied cherries
In a small bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla. Combine the flour and salt. Gradually add to the creamed mixture. Mix well. Stir in the almonds.
Roll 1 teaspoon of the dough around each cherry. Place on greased baking sheets. Bake at 325 F for 15-20 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool slightly. Roll in the confectioners' sugar. Makes 5 dozen
