Lime Spritz Cookies

Lime Spritz Cookies
1 1/2 cups butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 pkg. (3 ounces) lime gelatin
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
4 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
Red and Green colored sugar, optional
In a large bowl, cream the butter, sugar, and gelatin. Beat in the egg and vanilla. Combine the flour and baking powder. Gradually add to the creamed mixture. Using a cookie press fitted with the disk of your choice, press the dough into the desired shapes 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Sprinkle with colored sugars if desired. Bake at 350 F for 8-10 minutes or until set. Remove to wire racks to cool. Makes 14 dozen
