Im kinda confuse.. need help

Post  AshleyDominique on Tue Nov 10, 2009 10:30 pm

I have one cake on the top shelf and one on the bottom, both of the same size and same mixture.

It's a fan-forced oven heated to 160C or 320F and the recipe recommends I cook for 45-50mins.

Does having 2 cakes in the oven make a difference? Will I need to adjust cooking time or temperature.

Will I need to rotate the cakes?

Can I cook 2 cakes in the oven at the same time? Will it affect temperature or cooking time?

You shouldnt have a problem at all putting them both in the oven. Just watch the one on the bottom because some times they tend to get done first. You may want to swap them around half way thru cooking. I had a haunted oven that liked to eat cookies and cakes really. It all depends on the oven. The oven I have now I have had no problem with baking things on the top and bottom cakes included. I hope this helps.
